The course of fisheries as per week 40/2018
Another week with moderate mackerel catches, but the very first catch of Atlanto Scandic herring in the south part of the Norwegian Sea, was taken.
- Please go on exporting your good mackerel to Japan, writes a Japanese boy in a letter to the Norwegian ambassador in Tokyo. The boy also asks for passing on this message to the Norwegian fishermen.
It was after having been served a tasty meal of Norwegian
mackerel recently that the 10 year old boy, enthusiastically wrote
a letter meant for the fishermen - sent to the ambassador. What the
boy likes the best is "shio saba", being lightly salted
The fish loving boy also declares that mackerel from Norway is his absolute favourite fish.
The boy lives in Kusatsu, in the Gunma Prefecture from where he wants to pass on his important message: Please go on exporting your mackerel!
Better for the North Sea herring, some horse mackerel for consumption. Still scares of coastal mackerel and “Svanaug Elise” is heading for the Norwegian Sea.
New prices from September 3th 2018
Still difficult conditions for the North Sea herring, - though, the best week so far with more than 20.000 MT registered.
The North Sea herring is still widespread, – and miserable weather condition for the mackerel up north.
An even week for the North Sea herring, a little better for mackerel up north, - and the sand eel season is over.
Last week: The North Sea herring widespread, and the very first catch of mackerel in the north.
