Another good week for blue whiting.
Norges Sildesalgslag and Norwegian Seafood Federation have established the following minimum price for blue whiting for consumption purposes as from 20 February 2014:
Mixed Blue Whiting: NOK 1.60 per kg
Blue whiting which is not used for consumption purposes (discard from consumption deliveries), shall at least be paid by NOK 0.60 per kg.
Vessels reporting blue whiting to NSS are obliged to give information about the assortment of their catch based on sampling onboard, which means the share of blue whiting with length:
1) at 25 cm and above (Group 1)
2) below 25 cm (Group 2)
