Another week with moderate mackerel catches, but the very first catch of Atlanto Scandic herring in the south part of the Norwegian Sea, was taken.
Here are the new minimum prices for mackerel , Norwegian spring-spawning herring and North Sea herring effective from the 12th of December, 2016:
From Monday, December 12 2016, the following minimum prices are valid for mackerel for consumption purposes.
Group 1 (mackerel weighing 250 gram or more): 2,3114 øre pr gram aver. weight
Group 2 (mackerel weighing under 250 gram): NOK 3,50 pr kg
(There were no changes in the mackerel price from the previous week since there was not enough quantity ( minimum 5,000 tonnes) to justify any changes
From Monday, December 5 2016, the following minimum prices are valid for North Sea Herring for consumption purposes.
Group 1 (herring weighing 125 gram or more): NOK 5,13 pr kg
Group 2 (herring weighing under 125 gram): NOK 2,75 pr kg
Group 2 (herring weighing under 125 gram - outsortet for fishmeal/oil): NOK 1,10 pr kg
From Monday, December 5 2016, the following minimum prices are valid for Norwegian Spring-spawning (NVG) herring for consumption purposes.
Group 1 (herring weighing 350 g or more): NOK 6,43 pr kg
Group 2 (herring weighing between 300 g og 348 g):NOK 6,15 pr kg
Group 3 (herring weiging between 200 g og 299 g): NOK 5,82 pr kg
Group 4 (herring weiging between 125 g og 199 g): NOK 5,03 pr kg
Group 5 (sild weighing 125 g or less): NOK 4,28 pr kg
Better for the North Sea herring, some horse mackerel for consumption. Still scares of coastal mackerel and “Svanaug Elise” is heading for the Norwegian Sea.

Still difficult conditions for the North Sea herring, - though, the best week so far with more than 20.000 MT registered.
The North Sea herring is still widespread, – and miserable weather condition for the mackerel up north.
An even week for the North Sea herring, a little better for mackerel up north, - and the sand eel season is over.
