Sildelaget visited Killybegs last week, due to the poor weather most of the Blue whiting fleet was as well, watch the video here:
During our board meeting February 20th the board discussed the unloading of catches for fishmeal and -oil purposes and concluded with the following:
“The board refers to § 12.7 in our business rules, saying that unloading is the buyers’ responsibility and no crew members shall enter the tanks. The paragraph stands as it is.”
§: “Unloading is the responsibility of the buyer. Catch landed for delivery as fishmeal and fish oil shall be unloaded using equipment owned and operated by the buyer. Catch delivered as fish for consumption shall be unloaded from the vessel to holding tanks using equipment owned and operated by the Fisherman, except for catch from small vessels which shall be unloaded using equipment owned and operated by the Buyer.”
Minimum prices of raw material for meal and oil purposes
Towards the end of this winter’s season for herring, half of last week “blew away”. Also, the blue whiting fleet experienced lack of any “help” by weather last week.
The herring has arrived at Møre, - and the first vessel with blue whiting is heading for Egersund.

A moderate week for Atlanto Scandic herring, better activity for the blue whiting, but no quota on capelin at Iceland - so far.
