As you will be aware, the Mackerel fishery is now underway in UK waters and as per the Agreed Record between the EU and Norway, Norwegian vessels are required to contact the UKFMC to seek authorisations to exit via Control Points.

I would be very grateful if you could advise the masters of your pelagic fleet that it would be greatly appreciated if contact with the UKFMC could be made by email ([email protected]) whenever possible – this will assist officers in the FMC to process their requests to leave UK waters via the Control Points more efficiently and in turn benefit the masters too.

If a master of a Norwegian vessel is unable to use email to contact the UKFMC then the telephone number they should call is +44 131 244 2286 – this number replaces the telephone number published in the Agreed Record and was brought into use as a consequence of changes to working patterns at Victoria Quay, Edinburgh due to COVID 19.
