Eight boats fished for North Sea herring last week and landed a total of 2,965 tonnes. This means the season is now slowly starting. Of the total, 955 tonnes went for human consumption, and 2,010 tonnes went to fishmeal and oil.
The boats fished in two areas. The northern boats were south of Oseberg, west of Bergen. The southern boats were south of the 59th parallel, west of Egersund.

Sandeel:
