The majority of the catches were taken in international waters, though six reports were submitted from the EU zone.

More than half of Norwayโ€™s blue whiting quota for 2026 has now been fished.
A total of 133,228 tonnes has been reported against a Norwegian quota of 238,736 tonnes, leaving 105,508 tonnes available for Norwegian vessels for the remainder of the year.

During the past week, two Norwegian and three British vessels reported catches of NVG herring.
The Shetland vessel โ€œAdeniaโ€ submitted two NVG herring reports during the week.

In total, 6,118 tonnes were reported, with an average herring size ranging between 260 and 295 grams.

So far, 154,486 tonnes have been caught of Norwayโ€™s total NVG herring quota of 342,666 tonnes.
Most Norwegian vessels are now expected to await the autumn migration north of Kvรฆnangen, and limited activity is therefore anticipated in this fishery in the period ahead.
